I am a passionate Amateur Astronomer and a Space exploration enthusiast. I enjoy deep sky observing from the most remote and dark sky locations. My favorite objects are bright nebulae and galaxies. From time to time, I do some Lunar and planetary observing from my backyard.

I got into amateur astronomy in 2005, when I discovered that one can build a Newtonian telescope by using just a cardboard tube and some plywood. So, I ground, polished and figured a 1/12 wave 8" f5.9 mirror and built a split-tube Dob based on Internet resources. In 2008, I completely rebuilt the telescope into a collapsible 'suitcase' scope that allowed me to carry it to the darkest skies while camping.

Recently, I acquired the complete optics from Meade Starfinder 16" f4.5 and plan to build a lightweight telescope for some serious deep sky hunting - I would like to complete Hershel's Catalog one day... or night.

The other project on my list is to build a parallelogram mount for my pair of Barska X-Trail 20x80 binoculars.

I am a member of the Chicagoland Northwest Suburban Astronomers Club and belong to an informal group of Polish-American amateur astronomers called Polacy Astromaniacy. These people are the best companion during stargazing events.

I wish you all clear skies!
